| The Original Hotel was a 15 room, 2 story building which
was opened on 1st January 1877. On 17 Nov 1907 a fire swept through
the wooden hotel and completely destroyed it.
A temporary building was erected a month later; measuring 24 feet by
26 feet. The front of the building was to be used as a bar and the
back as a sitting room and bedroom for the bar man. On one
occasion, this bar is said to have 60 people in it. This building
remains today, behind the present hotel. |
