The Original Hotel was a 15 room, 2 story building which was opened on 1st January 1877.

On 17 Nov 1907 a fire swept through the wooden hotel and completely destroyed it.

A temporary building was erected a month later; measuring 24 feet by 26 feet.  The front of the building was to be used as a bar and the back as a sitting room and bedroom for the bar man.  On one occasion, this bar is said to have 60 people in it.  This building remains today, behind the present hotel.

The new brick, two story building was started in May 1908 and officially opened on 22 December 1908.

There have been many alterations made to the outside of the building but the inside still boasts the original features and architecture of the 1900's.
